Set up your Kurb.

Connect your device, choose your times, and get started. The essentials are below; extra help is there when you need it.

01 / QUICK SETUP

A plan, ready to use.

Get the pilot app

Install the Kurb app using the invitation or instructions that came with your pilot device.

    Charge up and open the app

    Charge your Kurb, install the pilot app, and sign in. If the battery was empty, see the charging steps below.

  2. 02

    Tap, connect, and enter your code

    Tap or press the device control to wake it. Select your Kurb in the app and use its four-character code when prompted.

  3. 03

    Choose your access times

    Pick how many daily access windows you want and their start times. Save with your device connected, then check the plan in the app.

  4. 04

    Put your items away

    Make sure nothing blocks the lid or latch. Close gently and check that the device locks.

02 / OPEN & CLOSE

Hold. Release. Open.

When your access window is available, use the device control:

1 · HOLD

Hold for 2 seconds

Press and hold the unlock control for two seconds.

2 · RELEASE

Release your finger

Let go. Kurb physically unlocks after you release.

3 · CLOSE WHEN READY

Close when you’re ready

Finish at your own pace, then close the lid. Kurb will remind you to close it.

Keeping your finger held down will not physically unlock the device. You must release it.

You can also unlock through the app during your access window. After a few tries, holding and releasing will feel natural.

Reconnect your Home to the app after charging.

    Load the box

    Put your items inside, leaving the lid and latch clear.

  2. 02

    Open and close

    Hold for two seconds and release during your window. Lift the lid, then close it gently when you’re finished.

Keep essential medication and emergency equipment outside Kurb.

Kurb Zyn

For scheduled access to nicotine pouches.

Unplug to lock again

While charging, one unlock may be possible. Unplug the charger before Zyn can lock again.

    Load the case

    Follow your pilot unit’s pouch-loading instructions. Don’t overfill or block the latch.

  2. 02

    Open and close

    Hold for two seconds and release during your window. Take what you need, then close gently when you’re ready.

The code is the last four characters of Zyn’s Bluetooth name.

V Kurb

For JUUL devices and Vuse Alto.

Unplug to lock again

While charging, one unlock may be possible. Unplug the charger before V Kurb can lock again.

    Fit your vape

    Use the fit instructions supplied with your pilot unit. Keep the mouthpiece and latch clear.

  2. 02

    Open and close

    Hold for two seconds and release during your window. Let the lid open, then close gently when you’re finished.

Charging V Kurb does not charge the vape inside.

04 / SCHEDULE CHANGES

Need a change to your schedule?

Whether you’re cutting back or need a little more leeway, connect your Kurb and update your schedule in the app.

05 / CHARGE & RECONNECT

Low battery? Charge and reconnect.

Kurb automatically unlocks when its battery becomes critical.

    Charge it

    Plug in your device. Kurb Zyn and V Kurb will beep when charged and ready to connect.

  2. 02

    Reconnect in the app

    After charging, reconnect your device to the Kurb app before continuing.

Kurb Zyn & V Kurb: unplug to lock againDuring charging, one unlock may be possible. The device can only lock again after you unplug the charger.

Where do I find my code?

Use the last four characters of the Bluetooth device name: V Kurb 7TJ8 means code 7TJ8. Kurb Home and V Kurb also show the code on their screens. Use the same code for Bluetooth pairing and device login in the app.

My device doesn’t appear in the app.

Turn on Bluetooth, allow the app’s Bluetooth permission, and tap the device control to wake it. Keep it near your phone. If the battery was empty, charge first; Zyn and V Kurb beep when ready to connect.

I’m holding the control, but it won’t open.

Check that your access window is available. Hold for two seconds, then release your finger. Keeping it held down will not physically unlock Kurb. You can also try unlocking through the app.

My device won’t lock again.

For Zyn or V Kurb, unplug the charger first. Reconnect to the app after charging and check that nothing blocks the latch. Close gently. If it still won’t lock, contact support.

Why hasn’t my schedule changed yet?

Changes take at least 24 hours. Check that you saved while connected, then look in the app for the start time. Your current plan stays active until then.

I changed phones or reinstalled the app.

Sign in with the same email and reconnect to your existing device. If you can’t reconnect, contact pilot support.

See how your plan is going and choose your next step in the app.

Keep going or cut back

Keep your current plan or choose a suggested reduction. It’s your choice.

Save while connected

Connect your Kurb to save a change. The app shows when it starts.

In a genuine emergency

Use emergency access for an urgent situation when waiting for your next window isn’t practical.

  1. Wake your Kurb and connect it to the app.
  2. Open Emergency access and follow the confirmation prompts.
  3. Close after use. If Zyn or V Kurb is charging, unplug it so it can lock again.

Up to two emergency unlocks per week. The allowance resets on Monday.
